Job Description
Manager of Development - Alta Loma Productions
Under direction of the Vice President of Alta Loma, this position is responsible for the development of new feature films, television series, specials and digital content, all under the Alta Loma banner. This position interacts with all facets of PEI, including but not limited to the media group, licensing, magazine and digital. Externally, it deals with networks and studios not controlled by Playboy Entertainment, as well as writers, producers, directors, talent, talent agents, talent managers in the process of developing superior content for Alta Loma.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Evaluate all incoming mainstream/lifestyle material (pitches, scripts and presentations) to determine if consideration should be given.
· Pitch internally developed projects to third parties, i.e. cable channels, networks, studios, cable operators, satellite providers, etc.
· Work with third parties (studios, networks, production companies) on current and future projects in development and production.
· Responsible for the development of new feature films under the Alta Loma banner.
· Aid in the development, sale and production of projects assigned to Alta Loma.
· Provide story coverage for projects that are being considered for Alta Loma.
· Prepare deal memos.
· Maintain budget control of Alta Loma projects.
· Identify assets from the magazine or our vast video library that can be developed into television and/or feature projects.
· Maintain current and create new relationships within the entertainment community to further growth and awareness of Alta Loma and the Playboy brand.
QUALIFICATIONS
. 5 years entertainment experience with at least 2 years in Feature Film development area.
. Studio, production company and or agency experience a must.
. Required to have strong relationships with both studio executives and literary agents.
. Extensive knowledge of feature film development and deal structure.
. Familiar with television development and have relationships at studios, networks, cable channels and agencies.
