Job Description Principal responsibilities include:
Manage studio services and team of 5 studio artists to ensure that mechanical and photoshop work is done on time and on budget; ensure that all jobs are properly produced, and complete.
Implement and supervise studio processes, file management, work flow and contributing to asset database (e.g., logos, photographs, etc.);
Hands on production of various print tactics.
Anticipating workforce needs, ensuring projects are adequately staffed, and managing a freelance budget line.
The studio manager acts as liaison to Traffic and Production departments to anticipate production schedules and resource needs in order to complete projects within deadlines and budget constraints. He/She will keep Studio Director informed of workflow issues and scheduling concerns and will prioritize projects, hiring freelance personnel, and planning contingencies.
Required Skills/Experience
Proficiency in Macintosh computer-assisted design and print production, as well as traditional print production
Thorough grasp of “good” design. Ability to interpret designers’ creative needs so that project goals and business strategy are met. Ensure that all projects reflect the “No Limits” image
Excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proactive thinking, taking initiative to anticipate resource needs and coordinate with other team members, with minimal direction from Studio Director
Ability to work effectively on many diverse projects, under very tight deadlines
Ability to prioritize projects, while ensuring that all projects continue to progress toward completion
Ability to work well in a team environment
3 - 5 years experience in computer graphics, and print production, preferably within advertising agencies, design studios, corporate design departments, or other design-related areas
College education in graphic design, advertising, typography, computer graphics, and print production preferred
