Job Description TITLE: Graphic Designer
REPORTS TO: Chief Marketing and Communications Officer
This position is located in NYC
SCOPE: Conceptualizes; creates and executes print and web designs for Foundation’s various needs from new branding projects, invitations and save the date cards to annual report, major research projects, brochures and special web sections.
RESPONSIBILITITES:
60% Executes and maintains the look and feel of newly revised brand
Designs and executes web and print newsletters, brochures, signage, invitations and products for Foundation and its various programs and involvements
* Directs and oversees graphic efforts of offices nationwide
* Works closely with Foundation writer to ensure clear and concise messaging
* Works with production manager and web strategist to liaison with print and web vendors
30% Manages photographers and vendors
* Hires photographers for special events, brochures and online material
* Selects and buys stock art for ongoing web and print projects
* Works with production manager in managing branding guidelines
* Negotiates contracts with subcontractors for photography and print needs
10% General Responsibilities
* Maintain good working relationship with vendors and suppliers including, but not limited to, requesting & evaluating price quotes, purchasing and service contracts.
Contribute to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the staff, board, WSF members and the public through:
* Positive and constructive approach to all tasks

* Appropriate conflict resolution behavior
Contribute to the financial stability and success of the Foundation:
* Identify or implement actions resulting in financial savings
* Contributes to the generation of new revenues
Qualifications
* Ease with both print and web design
* Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign (flash and actionscript a plus)
* The skills to hire and manage photographers, print vendors and freelance artists
* Awareness of current content management systems and other implementation tools
* Ability to work creatively on Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
* Maturity to continue branding efforts and to oversee signage and brand use
* Stays within the adjusted budget on lines for which the employee is responsible
* Adheres to financial procedures
* Contribute to a clean working environment
